Kenya Army Benchmarks with ICT Authority on ICT Modernisation
The ICT Authority, led by CEO Jessy Maruti, today hosted a delegation from the Kenya Army for a courtesy and benchmarking visit focused on ICT modernisation and digital transformation.

The visit provided an opportunity for the Kenya Army ICT Modernisation Board to learn from the Authority’s experience in implementing national digital transformation initiatives, ICT governance and infrastructure, systems integration, cybersecurity, cloud services, capacity building, and monitoring and evaluation of ICT programmes.

During the engagement, the ICT Authority team shared insights on the implementation of key digital infrastructure and government technology programmes, including the National Optic Fibre Backbone Infrastructure (NOFBI), data centres and other shared digital platforms that support the delivery of secure and reliable Government services. The discussions also explored approaches to building robust, resilient and secure ICT systems, strengthening interoperability and information security, and adopting emerging technologies to enhance institutional efficiency.

The Kenya Army delegation was led by Colonel E. Ombati and included Lieutenant Colonel W. Masinga, Major S. Wangari, Major V. Wekesa and Major K. K. Cheserek, alongside other officers.

The engagement provided a platform for knowledge sharing and exchange of best practices as the Kenya Army advances its ICT modernisation agenda, while strengthening collaboration between the two institutions in areas of mutual interest.

Also in attendance from the ICT Authority were Director, Programmes and Standards, Thomas Bwaley; Deputy Director, Programmes, Thomas Odhiambo; Deputy Director, Planning, Sylas Tomno; and Deputy Director, Information Security, Philip Irode, alongside other officials.
