Operational Data Centre · GDC

The GDC — Government Data Centre

A centralised repository of applications supporting government operations, giving national and county government bodies a common, secure home for their systems and data.

Public key infrastructure security
Operational Security · NPKI

National Public Key Infrastructure (NPKI)

A government system for creating, storing and distributing digital certificates that verify online identities. ICTA operates as the Government Certification Agency, while the Communications Authority of Kenya manages the Root Certificate Authority.

National Optic Fibre Backbone Infrastructure
Three-phase national fibre programme: 8,900+ km of terrestrial cable connecting all 47 counties and reaching sub-county level.
GUC
Government Unified Communication
Free calls, video, instant messaging and a shared directory linking 11,000+ government users across all 47 county offices.
GDC + KDC
Government Data Centres
Tier-2 Government Data Centre and the Konza Data Centre — primary hosting and disaster-recovery sites for whole-of-government applications.
EARTTDFP
East Africa Regional Transport Fibre
5-county fibre extension (Uasin Gishu, Kakamega, Trans Nzoia, West Pokot, Turkana) to the Nadapal/Nakodok border with South Sudan.
DLP
Digital Literacy Programme
Over 1 million learner devices issued to 19,000+ public primary schools, plus 91,000 teachers trained in ICT.
PDTP
Presidential Digital Talent Programme
Flagship internship: 1,300+ ICT and engineering graduates placed across government ministries through cohorts I to VI.
NSDI
National Spatial Data Infrastructure
Trusted geospatial data infrastructure managed by ICTA, supporting government planning, e-commerce and the National Physical Addressing System.
